« the mains wall socket. Allow the handle to charge for 16 hours. To preserve the longest possible life of the rechargeable cells (up to 1000 charges), it is better not to leave the appliance on charge for more than 24 consecutive hours. Corded use • Ensure that the handle is switched off . • Insert the small plug at the end of the charger lead into the corresponding socket in the end of the handle. Plug the charger into the mains wall socket. Wait for one minute, then switch on. Important! Do not use the appliance in this mode for more than 20 minutes. Fitting the attachments (NB unit must be switched off ) To fi t any attachment onto the appliance, insert the small pin of the attachment into the corresponding hole on top of the appliance and push down fi rmly. To remove, simply pull the attachment up and away from the top of the appliance. 1. manicure (see fi g.1) • Soak your hands in warm soapy water then dry them thoroughly. • If necessary use the smaller nail clippers or the nail scissors to cut your nails in the desired shape. • Use the pointed end of the cuticle shaper to carefully clean under free edge. Set to speed II and using soft circular movements gently press the free edge of the nail against the fi ling disc. • Finish at speed I to smooth the fi led edges of each nail. • Using the rounded end of the cuticle shaper, gently ease the cuticles (a) away from the nail plate (e), taking care not to tear the nail wall (c). • Areas of unwanted rough or hard skin may be reduced using the detail fi le (1). Set speed I at fi rst, then speed II to increase eff ectiveness. The side of the detail fi le may be used to carefully remove areas of hard skin beside the nail wall (c). • In some cases, where ridges and furrows are present on the nail plate, it may be desirable on occasion to use the buffi ng disc (4) to gently and carefully reduce the unevenness. Polishing Place a small amount of polishing cream on the nail plate, avoiding the cuticle. Se- lect and fi t smoothing disc (4) and polish on speed I for a maximum of 15 seconds per nail.. 2. Pedicure (see fi g. 4) • Soak your feet for 5 minutes in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. • Separate the toes, either using a roll of cotton wool plaited between the toes, or with sponge separators. • If necessary use the large nail clippers to cut your nails. Shaping • Using the fi ling disc on speed II shape the toe nail. The most desirable shape for toe nails (d) is for them to be fi led straight across. • If necessary, reduce to speed I to fi nish off the shape, and to smooth the edge. • Calluses and any other areas of unwanted rough or hard skin may be reduced using the callus remover. Start with a test on speed I before a more effi cient treatment on speed II. • In some cases, where ridges and furrows are present on the nail plate, it may be desirable on occasion to use the buffi ng disc to reduce the unevenness. Polishing Proceed as for fi ngers (see “Polishing” section) Important: always use the BaByliss Professional Nail Care System on the lower speed setting fi rst and then move to the higher setting if needed. 3.
