Yes, Melbourne Zoo is quite large and you can see koalas there. Just be aware that they spend most of their lives up in trees asleep, so you may not see them move!

There is Melbourne zoo in parkville that may have koalas. Alternatively healesville sancutury, just outside melbourne, will definitely have koalas and platapuss

Not in the wild in Melbourne, Healesville Sanctuary is the best place to see native wildlife. Raymond Island in East Gippsland is a place you are guaranteed to see them in the wild.

Melbourne Zoo is one of the best in Australia. You can walk out the front door of the Ibis Hotel and Apartments, turn to your left towards Elizabeth Street, walk across the intersection and catch a tram to the zoo. there is a information board which will help you find the tram number that you need to catch.

Another nice option is a day trip to Ballarat Wildlife Park. At the Ballarat Wildlife Park there are lots of kangaroos you can hand feed and you can hold a koala and have a photo for an extra charge, There are crocodiles and heaps of other Australian animals as well as penguins. While you are in Ballarat, Sovereign Hill is also excellent - a recreated gold mining village from the 1850's. Lots of things to do and gives you a good insight into life in Australia in the 1850s
