DinFront/Rear-Mount Thisunitcanbeproperlyinstalledeither from'Front'(conventionalDINFront-mount) or'Rear'(DINRear-mountinstallation, utilizingthreadedscrewHolesatthesides oftheunitchassis).Fordetails,refertothe followingillustratedinstallationmethods. Installingtheunit Besureyoutestallconnectionsfirst,and thenfollowthesestepstoinstalltheunit. 1.Makesuretheignitionisturnedoff,and thendisconnectthecablefromthevehicle battery'snegative(-)terminal. 5.Thetwosuppliedkeysreleasetabs insidetheunit'ssleevesoyoucanremove it.Insertthekeysasfarastheywillgo(with thenotchesfacingup)intotheappropriate slotsatthemiddleleftandrightsidesofthe unit.Thenslidethesleeveoffthebackof theunit. 2.Disconnectthewireharnessandthe antenna. 3.Pressthebuttononthefrontpaneland removethecontrolpanel(Fordetails,refer to'usingthedetachablefrontpanel'). 4.Liftthetopoftheoutertrimringthenpull itouttoremoveit. InstallationOpening Thisunitcanbeinstalledinanydashboard havinganopeningasshownbelow: Installation 1.DINFRONT-MOUNT(MethodA) 53mm 182mm TakeOutScrewBeforeInstallation Beforeinstalltheunit,pleaseremovethe twoscrews.7.Reconnectthewireharnessandthe antennaandbecarefulnottopinchany wiresorcables. 8.Slidetheunitintothesleeveuntilitlocks intoplace. 9.Tofurthersecuretheunit,usethe suppliedmetalstraptosecurethebackof theunitinplace.Usethesuppliedhardware (HexNut(M5mm)andSpringWasher)to attachoneendofthestraptothemounting boltonthebackoftheunit.Ifnecessary, bendthemetalstraptofityourvehicle's mountingarea.Thenusethesupplied hardware(TappingScrew(5x25mm)and PlainWasher)toattachtheotherendof metalstraptoasolidmetalpartofthe vehicleunderthedashboard.Thisstrap alsohelpsensureproperelectrical groundingoftheunit. Notetoinstalltheshortthreadingterminal ofthemountingbolttothebackoftheunit andtheotherlongthreadingterminaltothe dashboard. 6.Mountthesleevebyinsertingthesleeve intotheopeningofthedashboardandbend openthetabslocatedaroundthesleeve withascrewdriver.Notalltabswillbeable tomakecontact,soexaminewhichones willbemosteffective.Bendingopenthe appropriatetabsbehindthedashboardto securethesleeveinplace. 10.Reconnectthecabletothevehicle battery'snegative(-)terminal.Then replacetheoutertrimringandinstallthe unit'sfrontpanel(seethestepsof'toinstall thefrontpanel'). 1.Makesuretheignitionisturnedoff,and thendisconnectthecablefromthevehicle battery'snegative(-)terminal. 2.Removethemetalstrapattachedthe backoftheunit(ifattached). 3.Pressthereleasebuttontoremovethe frontpanel. 4.Liftthetopoftheoutertrimringthenpull itouttoremoveit. 5.Insertbothofthesuppliedkeysintothe slotsatthemiddleleftandrightsidesofthe unitthenpulltheunitoutofthedashboard.
