It's on a one way street. Not busy with traffic. Hotel rooms are quiet. Department stores, shops etc are right there. So good location for the money. I have stayed there multiple times in the last 6 months for work and will be agin soon.

Neighbourhood is good but there are major renovations going on and some of the hotel facilities like the Cocoon Bar is closed. They expect the renovations to be completed by December. If you are not fussed by the reno work inconvenience (it is not really noisy) and about there being a down scaled bar, it is still a great hotel at a good location.

I suppose it depends where your room is located. The hotel is in the middle of the CBD however my room was in the middle of the hotel and was quiet. No problems with noise.

It is in a Main Street, with trams going by. Over Street rooms are quiet, rooms by elevators can be noisy. Tell hotel you want a quiet room.

It's in the centre of the CBD, in amongst everything. Definitely not calm and quiet - although your room still could be.
